Dieses Gemälde entstand für eine Ausstellung unseres Künstlervereins mit dem Thema "Verboten". Es entstand, da mich in den 90er Jahren die Lokapolitik in meiner Heimatstadt ziemlich wütend gemacht haben. In Frankfurt am Main gab es damals (wie heute auch noch) viele Obdachlose und diese lagerten (gerade in den kalten Jahrszeiten) gerne in den U-Bahndurchgängen. Die Obrigkeit ließ diese Menschen, weil sie ja für eine "schöne Stadt" nicht sehenswert waren an die Peripherie der Stadt transportieren. Wo sie dort unterkamen - keine Ahnung - U-Bahndurchgänge gibt es dort nicht mehr! Im Hintergrund sieht man die Bank-Hochhäuser von Frankfurt und links eine Rolltreppe in Richtung U-Bahn.
This painting was created for an exhibition of our artist association with the theme "forbidden". It came about because in the 90s the loco politics in my hometown made me pretty angry. There were many homeless people in Frankfurt am Main at that time (as they are today) and they liked to camp in the subway passages (especially in the cold seasons). The authorities let these people, because they were not worth seeing for a "beautiful city" to the periphery of the city transport. Where they came in - no idea - subway passes are not there anymore! In the background you can see the bank skyscraper of Frankfurt and on the left an escalator in the direction of the subway.
